The Setup
I tried to publish an article with the slug /2027/ on my WordPress site. WordPress refused. It assigned /2027-2/ instead — because WordPress reserves numeric slugs that look like years.
Annoying, but explainable. So I asked Claude: Is this actually verified?
Claude searched the web, found the answer (yes, WordPress has blocked numeric slugs since version 3.0, confirmed in WordPress Trac ticket #14238), and cited two sources.
The Punchline
The citations looked correct. The quoted text was accurate. But the links?
